SHORT TITLE.<\/p>\n<p>This Act may be cited as the &#8220;Eliminating Government-funded Oil-<br \/>\npainting Act&#8221; or the &#8220;EGO Act&#8221;.<br \/>\nSEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON USE OF FUNDS FOR PORTRAITS.<\/p>\n<p>(a) In General.&#8211;Subchapter III of chapter 13 of title 31, United<br \/>\nStates Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:<br \/>\n&#8220;Sec. 1355. &lt;&lt;NOTE: 31 USC 1355.&gt;&gt; Prohibition on use of funds<br \/>\nfor portraits<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;(a) No funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the<br \/>\nFederal Government may be used to pay for the painting of a portrait of<br \/>\nan officer or employee of the Federal Government, including the<br \/>\nPresident, the Vice President, a Member of Congress, the head of an<br \/>\nexecutive agency, or the head of an office of the legislative branch.<br \/>\n&#8220;(b) &lt;&lt;NOTE: Definitions.&gt;&gt; In this section&#8211;<br \/>\n&#8220;(1) the term `executive agency&#8217; has the meaning given the<br \/>\nterm in section 133 of title 41; and<br \/>\n&#8220;(2) the term `Member of Congress&#8217; includes a Delegate or<br \/>\nResident Commissioner to Congress.&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>(b) Clerical Amendment.&#8211;The table of sections for subchapter III of<br \/>\nchapter 13 of title 31, United States Code, &lt;&lt;NOTE: 31 USC 1301 prec.&gt;&gt;<br \/>\nis amended by<\/p>\n<p>[[Page 132 STAT. 1243]]<\/p>\n<p>adding after the item relating to section 1354 the following new item:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;1355.
