An Act<\/p>\n
To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to acquire approximately 44
\nacres of land in Martinez, California, for inclusion in the John Muir
\nNational Historic Site, and for other purposes. <<NOTE: June 22,
\n2018 – [H.R. 1719]>><\/p>\n
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
\nUnited States of America in Congress assembled, <<NOTE: John Muir
\nNational Historic Site Expansion Act.>>
\nSECTION 1. <<NOTE: 54 USC 320101 note.>> SHORT TITLE.<\/p>\n
This Act may be cited as the “John Muir National Historic Site
\nExpansion Act”.
\nSEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.<\/p>\n
In this Act:
\n(1) Historic site.–The term “Historic Site” means the
\nJohn Muir National Historic Site in Martinez, California,
\nestablished by Public Law 88-547 (78 Stat. 753).
\n(2) Map.–The term “map” means the map entitled “John
\nMuir National Historic Site Proposed Boundary Expansion”,
\nnumbered 426\/127150, and dated November 2014.
\n(3) Secretary.–The term “Secretary” means the Secretary
\nof the Interior.
\nSEC. 3. JOHN MUIR NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE LAND ACQUISITION.<\/p>\n
(a) Acquisition.–The Secretary may acquire by donation the
\napproximately 44 acres of land and any interests in the land that is
\nidentified on the map.
\n(b) Boundary.–On the acquisition of the land authorized under
\nsubsection (a), the Secretary shall adjust the boundaries of the
\nHistoric Site to include the acquired land.
\n(c) Administration.–The land and any interests in land acquired
\nunder subsection (a) shall be administered as part of the National
\nHistoric Site.<\/p>\n
