CROATIA (European Court of Human Rights)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">FIRST SECTION<br \/>\nDECISION<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Application no. 38704\/15<br \/>\nVlado BRATULI\u0106<br \/>\nagainst Croatia<\/p>\n<p>The European Court of Human Rights (First Section), sitting on 12\u00a0February 2019 as a Committee composed of:<\/p>\n<p>Armen Harutyunyan, President,<br \/>\nKsenija Turkovi\u0107,<br \/>\nPauliine Koskelo, judges,<\/p>\n<p>and Renata Degener, Deputy Section Registrar,<\/p>\n<p>Having regard to the above application lodged on 31 July 2015,<\/p>\n<p>Having deliberated, decides as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>FACTS AND PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The applicant, Mr Vlado Bratuli\u0107, is a Croatian national, who was born in 1949 and lives in Split. He was represented before the Court by Mr\u00a0J.\u00a0Franceschi, a lawyer practising in Split.<\/p>\n<p>The applicant\u2019s complaint concerning access to court was communicated to the Croatian Government (\u201cthe Government\u201d), who were represented by their Agent, Ms \u0160. Sta\u017enik.<\/p>\n<p>The applicant failed to respond to the last Registry\u2019s letter of 23 October 2018 (received by his representative on 30 October 2018), reminding him that the period allowed for submission of his observations in reply to the Government\u2019s pleading had expired on 16 July 2018 and that no extension of time had been requested. His attention was drawn to Article\u00a037\u00a0\u00a7\u00a01\u00a0(a) of the Convention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE LAW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Court considers that, in these circumstances, the applicant may be regarded as no longer wishing to pursue his application, within the meaning of Article\u00a037\u00a0\u00a7\u00a01\u00a0(a) of the Convention.
