FIRST SECTION
DECISION
Application no. 25465/15
Anahit GALSTYAN
against Armenia
The European Court of Human Rights (First Section), sitting on 12 February 2019 as a Committee composed of:
Ksenija Turković, President,
Krzysztof Wojtyczek,
Armen Harutyunyan, judges,
and Renata Degener, Deputy Section Registrar,
Having regard to the above application lodged on 16 May 2015,
Having deliberated, decides as follows:
FACTS AND PROCEDURE
The applicant, Ms Anahit Galstyan, is an Armenian national who was born in 1959 and lives in Yerevan. She was represented before the Court by Mr T. Safaryan, a lawyer practising in Yerevan.
The application was communicated to the Armenian Government (“the Government”), who were represented by their Agent, Mr G. Kostanyan, Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the European Court of Human Rights.
The applicant failed to respond to the Registry’s last letter of 27 September 2018 (received by her representative on 15 October 2018), reminding her that the period allowed for submission of her further observations in reply to the questions put forward by the President of the Section to the parties had expired on 8 June 2018 and that no extension of time had been requested. Her attention was drawn to Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention.
THE LAW
The Court considers that, in these circumstances, the applicant may be regarded as no longer wishing to pursue her application, within the meaning of Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention. Furthermore, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 in fine, the Court finds no special circumstances regarding respect for human rights as defined in the Convention and its Protocols which require the continued examination of the case.
In view of the above, it is appropriate to strike the case out of the list.
For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,
Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
Done in English and notified in writing on 14 March 2019.
